Pakistan is hopeful of getting a new loan from the IMF

An agreement was reached between the Islamabad government and the IMF in July this year for a three-year loan program of seven billion dollars. According to the Pakistani Finance Minister, the progress so far in obtaining the loan is going well.

Pakistan is making good progress on terms agreed with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and   is expected to receive IMF board approval for a new $7 billion loan program in September. Pakistan's Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb told news agency Reuters today on Wednesday, August 21.
