Pakistan ties itself with Egypt for the first time. Announcement of a proposal to link Pakistan's Gwadar port with the Suez Economic Zone

Cairo welcomed the proposal to link Pakistan's Gwadar port to the Suez Canal Economic Zone and launch a joint strategic economic corridor between Pakistan and Egypt.
This was stated by the Pakistani Ambassador to Cairo, Aamir Shaukat, who explained that Gwadar Port represents an excellent point of contact between western China, Central Asia and the rest of the world, which enhances the importance of this proposed connection.
In a special interview with Cairo News Channel, the Pakistani ambassador emphasized the depth of the multifaceted relations between the two countries, which include historical and cultural aspects, in addition to more than 40 agreements and memoranda of understanding in the fields of economy, defense and investment.
The ambassador emphasized that trade with Africa and the Middle East is a top priority for Pakistan, noting that his country is currently focusing on trade, the economy, defense, and investment. To highlight this interest, Pakistan organized an exhibition in Cairo to showcase its products to several African countries.
In the context of international cooperation, the ambassador noted that the Developing Eight (D-8) group of Islamic countries aims to promote economic cooperation among member states, stressing the need to reduce customs and non-customs barriers between member states, exploit large markets for halal products, and involve the private sector in exchanging trade opportunities under the auspices of governments.
The ambassador stressed that Pakistan maintains strong and balanced relations with all its partners, including Arab and Western countries, China, the United States and Russia, without its relationship with one party being at the expense of another.
