"Strengthening Ties: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Sadyr Japarov Unite for Regional Peace and Prosperity under 'Vision Central Asia'"

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a delegation level meeting with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening engagement with Central Asian states under the 'Vision Central Asia' policy. The two leaders discussed advancing a shared vision of regional peace and prosperity, strengthening trade and investment ties with a target of $200 million by 2027-28.

Both leaders reaffirmed their shared resolve to further strengthen the bilateral partnership, particularly in the areas of trade, energy, connectivity and people-to-people contacts. They also reaffirmed support for a stable Afghanistan and urged the Taliban authorities to honour international obligations and take tangible steps against terrorism in response to Pakistan’s security concerns. They further expressed strong support for efforts towards peace in Gaza and the Palestinian right to self-determination, including the establishment of a sovereign and viable state with Al Quds Al Sharif as its capital.
