Pakistan, US conduct bilateral exercises in Arabian Sea

The Pakistan Navy said in a statement carried by the official Pakistan News Agency that the US warship USS O'Kane arrived at Karachi port and participated in a bilateral exercise in the North Arabian Sea with the Pakistan Navy's ship Babur. The statement explained that this bilateral exercise reflects the Pakistan Navy's commitment to regional peace and maritime order in cooperation with experienced global partners; with the aim of combating the menace of terrorism, piracy, drugs and human trafficking in the region and beyond.
The statement indicated that the exercises aim to enhance interoperability and demonstrate the resolve of the US and Pakistani navies towards regional maritime peace. It explained that the visit of the US Navy ship to Pakistan is a manifestation of the deep-rooted bilateral relations between the two navies in general and the two countries in particular.
