Pakistan intends to develop cooperation with the Russian Federation in the field of IT
Pakistan is interested in developing a partnership with Russia in the IT sector to overcome social and environmental challenges. This was stated by the Ambassador of the Republic to the Russian Federation Muhammad Khalid Jamali, speaking at the International IT Forum in Khanty-Mansiysk. “Pakistan is interested in partnership with Russia in the field of information technology to build a better future,” the diplomat said, as quoted by the Pakistani Embassy in Moscow. In this context, he expressed confidence that, working together with Russian colleagues, Pakistani specialists will be able to “use the IT sector to solve social and environmental problems.” The Ambassador also drew attention to the need to develop a legal framework and ethical principles for regulating the IT sector. “The IT sector is actively developing in Pakistan. Today, there are more than 2 thousand companies in the country employing more than 300 thousand English-speaking IT specialists,” Jamali continued. “There are also 13 technology parks in Pakistan where software is developed. Every year our Universities train more than 20 thousand IT engineers and programmers.” The XV International IT Forum with the participation of the BRICS and SCO countries is taking place in Khanty-Mansiysk from June 18 to 20. During it, more than 50 events will take place, the participants of which will be over 3.6 thousand people from 47 countries and 61 regions of Russia. They will discuss the use of the latest technologies in the economy, social sphere and education, cybersecurity, import independence, artificial intelligence and human resources development.
