32 agreements signed between Pakistan and China

The agreements signed include IT, textiles, leather and footwear, minerals, pharmaceuticals, agriculture and food processing sectors. These agreements were signed on the second day of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's visit to China.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is currently on a five-day visit to China. He arrived in China on June 4. During this visit, he will focus on strengthening bilateral relations and economic, trade and investment ties with China. His visit is happening at a time when the country is in dire need of foreign direct investment due to the economic crisis.

The Pakistani Prime Minister will also seek further cooperation under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) during his visit. This important project of Chinese President Xi Jinping is now entering the second phase. China had promised to invest 60 billion dollars to Pakistan under this project in 2015.
