Accreditation / Press Accreditation Cards

The External Publicity Wing (EP Wing) of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting handles the accreditation of foreign media personnel, including foreign nationals and Pakistani nationals working for foreign media outlets in Pakistan.

  • For Foreign Nationals: Press Accreditation Cards are issued by the Press Information Department (PID) upon recommendation from the EP Wing, provided they have a valid visa.
  • For Pakistani Nationals: Press Accreditation requires a ‘No Objection Certificate’ (NOC) from the Ministry of Interior. The PID processes the cases based on recommendations from the EP Wing.

Process:

  • Media outlets headquartered abroad must refer and recommend their Pakistan-based staff to the nearest Pakistani Embassy/High Commission/Consulate, providing credentials, job details, and contact information. These cases are assessed in Islamabad.
  • For media outlets operating in Pakistan, the Heads or Bureau Chiefs submit cases directly to the EP Wing in Islamabad.

Outlets must regularly update and reconcile staff lists with the EP Wing. Accreditation forms are available for download.
